Consistency

Funny how God is so consistent about the thoughts He places in our heads. I hate writing about myself, really. But today, I felt the urge to make a blog in an attempt to document my efforts to being healthy, and this afternoon, as I wrote a 2-liner info about myself for this blog, I decided to share a part of my life, about Romans 12:1-2, and how God has been dealing with me with regards to this verse. It’s been a year since this verse had that huge an impact to me. And once again I’m reminded to be back on track, and to live it. And just now, as I opened utmost.org for my night devotion, I see, once more, Romans 12:2 🙂 Thank You, Lord for being so faithful in helping me focus on what You want me to be this season of my life.

Sharing with you The Message translation:

Romans 12:1-2

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

I love what Oswald Chambers said:

We can all see God in exceptional things, but it requires the growth of spiritual discipline to see God in every detail. Never believe that the so-called random events of life are anything less than God’s appointed order. Be ready to discover His divine designs anywhere and everywhere.

— True isn’t it? We usually wait for big things to happen for us to see God. But what we should realize is that even in the smallest of things, God has a message for us :o)

Yes, even the urge to clean your room. Haha.
