Hi, I’m bliss! a chubby 30-something graphic artist/photographer who aims to share with you the ‘all-good’s that i encounter in my journey to being healthier – physically, mentally and most importantly, spiritually.
Late last year God led me to make Romans 12:1-2 a lifestyle:
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.
God made me realize that being a living sacrifice is not only figurative, but literal. When we offer our lives to Jesus, the result of this isn’t just service and ministry, but worship is also living a life that is disciplined — in all aspects. In what we do with our time, what we say, or even eat (or shop haha!)! Don’t get me wrong, God is not kill-joy, He actually wants us to live happy and fulfilling lives. And with that, He wants us to treat our bodies with respect, because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we need to take care of it, so we can live longer, be of service for God (first and foremost), and actually enjoy all the blessings God has in store for us! And, as hard as it is, I try (try as an operative word) to live by this, and started taking care of my body this year, by eating right and exercising. With a few bumps (and crashes). But by God’s grace, with constant pickups, reminders, warnings (and a few scoldings) He has been sustaining me to be healthy and happy, and not to be obsessed with physical appearance, or image or what nots. I’m far (as in reaaaaally far) from being fit (and sane HAHA!) but God has taught me to be patient, to learn from different experiences, to ACTUALLY enjoy the journey and to make it top priority to see Him and know who He is, even in the most mundane tasks or situations.
With that, I hope the ‘all-goods’ (and some in-betweens) in this blog will encourage you guys to be healthier and to have fun living the life our Lord Jesus wants us to have.
